How to Play

QB1 is fun to play and easy to learn. You just need to decide if the offense will run or pass the ball on the next play and enter your prediction into your Playmaker. Get it right and you get points, guess wrong and you lose those points.

Now that we know the basics, let's take it up a notch. Will he pass left, up the middle or to the right? Will it be a short pass or a bomb? Are they going to try to punch it through with their third down back?

The more accurate you predict the next play, the more points you earn if you get it right. Get it wrong and you guessed it, the more points you lose. Are you beginning to see the possibilities here? Football is no longer just about watching but rather, participating!

It's now 4th and 5 and the offense is down by 4 points with 15 seconds left in the game. Will you call the long pass and hit the Gamebreaker button to double your reward if they go to the end zone? Do you suspect a delayed draw-play against an unsuspecting defense to get a new set of downs? Or will you play it safe and sit this one out, letting your opponents predict the play and possibly take the lead? The decision is yours and you will have a blast making it!

To earn points in QB1 you must correctly predict the basic Play-Call, RUN or PASS. If you are wrong, you will lose points. You can earn more points by predicting more complex plays (such as PASS-DEEP-MIDDLE). To get full credit, all predicted play elements must occur. If you predict PASS-DEEP-RIGHT and the actual play is a PASS-DEEP-LEFT, you will earn partial credit. Bonus Points are awarded for correctly calling two or more consecutive plays.

• Basic Call - RUN or PASS
• RUN – Where the ball carrier runs in relation to where the tackles lineup to START THE PLAY.
• PASS – Any designed pass play attempted, including a ball thrown overhand and a ball being thrown forward (overhand or underhand)
• Direction - LEFT, MIDDLE or RIGHT (applies to RUN and PASS plays)
• RUN LEFT and RIGHT - Ball carrier runs between the offensive tackle lines up.
• RUN MIDDLE - Ball carrier runs between the offensive tackles.
• PASS LEFT and RIGHT - Receiver’s first foot lands outside the hash marks.
• PASS MIDDLE - Receiver’s first foot lands on or between the hash marks.
• Distance - BACK, SHORT or DEEP (applies only to PASS plays)
• PASS BACK - Intended receivers first foot lands behind the line-of-scrimmage.
• PASS SHORT - Intended receivers first foot lands anywhere from the line-of-scrimmage to exactly 10 yards beyond.
• PASS DEEP - Intended receiver’s first foot lands BEYOND 10 yards or more from the line-of-scrimmage.
• GAME BREAKER Calls
• Using the GAME BREAKER key doubles the points awarded or deducted on any given play. GAME BREAKER is available once during each series of downs, and is automatically reactivated with each first down.
• Change of Play
• Plays can be changed simply by entering a new basic Play-Call. Direction and distance my also be added.
• Cancel Play
• Touch the “CANCEL” key before the snap of the ball.
• Penalty or No Play
• No points are awarded.
• Timing Of The Snap
• Players must enter Play-Calls prior to the snap of the ball or they will be shut out. Buzztime official referees, located in the Buzztime Headquarters Carlsbad, CA location, will send a signal that will shut out all predictions at the time of the snap. Technically, there could be a television broadcast delay of up to 2 seconds. So, QB1 players should get their Play-Calls in early.
• How To Win
• Consecutive Calls earn additional points on each correctly called play. Lose them when you make an incorrect basic Play-Call (RUN, PASS).
• GAME BREAKER doubles the point of a particular Play-Call. Use it once every series of downs.
• No Call is a good strategy when you are unsure
